ANN ARBOR - The 16 Michigan seniors' final home game was a dubious one indeed.

Northwestern won 21-14 at the Big House Saturday, handing the Wolverines their school-record eighth loss this season. UM finished the home portion of its schedule at 2-5, which is a school record for home losses.

The Wolverines led 14-7 at halftime thanks to quarterback Nick Sheridan's three-yard touchdown run and a blocked punt scooped up by Ricky Reyes and taken in for a three-yard score.

Northwestern tied it and went ahead on two third-quarter touchdown passes by C.J. Bacher.

UM's final three drives ended in a Steven Threet interception in the end zone and incomplete passes by Sheridan on fourth downs, including one deep in Wildcats territory.

Northwestern snapped a five-game losing streak to the Wolverines and won at Michigan Stadium for the first time since 1995.

UM (3-8) will finish the 2008 season at rival Ohio State next week.
